I had this same problem trying to use sql prompt on sql server 2000 with 6.5 compatible tables. Unfortunatly the app that I support uses that compatibility mode.

Is this getting any attention? I am also experiencing this problem with 6.5 compatability in Query Analyzer.

SQL Prompt won't work in 6.5 compatibility mode.

Hi there,
Thanks for reporting this. I'm sorry to say that this isn't something we're going to be able to fix in SQL Prompt version 3 since we'll be using some of our own pre-existing libraries that don't support 6.5 compatibility mode. It may or may not work in 70 compatibility mode, but we also do not officially support this. I apologise as this obviously doesn't help you at all, but it's down to some differences in the way the meta-data is stored and represented in SQL Server 6.5 and 7.0 that we don't support the corresponding compatibility modes under later versions of SQL Server.
Kind regards,
