An aditional info.
I'm using framework 2.0.
Just uninstalled framework 1.1... -
Can you tell me what error message you get please.
-
I have Visual Studio .net 2003 installed and I get the following set of errors:
1 a window Just in time Debugging saying
An Exception 'System.NullReferenceException' has ocurred in Redgate.SQLPrompt.exe
If I select the debuger 'New instance of Microsoft CLR Debugger 2003', I get
a small window stating 'Unable to attach to the process' and after clicking OK I get nothing else. -
Hi there,
Thanks for reporting this, and sorry for the problems you've been having. At the moment we're still not sure what the problem is, however this will be fixed in version 3. Our meta-data model is entirely different from that in version 2 and uses one of our internal libraries that already pulls back this information. One question: you're not using one of the 6.5 or 7.0 compatibility modes are you? It's known that SQL Prompt does not work with these compatibility modes, and unfortunately support for these won't be added in version 3. However, it obviously should handle the situation more gracefully than by simply crashing.
Many thanks, -
No, its working with "Database Compatibility level 80".
Oh well, I guess I will have to wait until your nexr release.
Cheers

Hi Alfredo,
OK, sorry that hasn't helped. For now I'm at a bit of a loss unfortunately, however if I do come up with anything I'll post back up here. We'll make sure the reliability is greatly improved for version 3 so keep your eye out for announcements about that over the coming months.
Many thanks, -
Hi Alfredo,
maybe you could send us the schema of your database? That would help us greatly. (No data required.) If you have sql compare, you could just take a snapshot of your database and send that in. If you don't have sql compare, you could get a trial version and use that (unless you already had a trial, that is, in which case, let me know and we could extend your trial).
Regards,
Tilman -
Hi again,
forgot to say, if you can find it in your heart, please send the schema to support@red-gate.com.
Cheers,
Tilman

Whenever I try to use one of my Databases your tool crashes when trying to get the metadata.
When I use SQL Prompt with a System database (eg: Master) it wotks fine.
If this tool gets to work as you say it does, it will be a blast.
Congratulations
Alfredo Rodrigues
