Please could you delete C:\ProgramData\Red Gate\SIPFw then repair the SIPFw installation.
Let me know what happens.
David -
It is working now.
This is what I did:
1) I repaired SIP framework.
2) Open SSMS but do not connect to a Database Engine.
3) Open SQL Search2
4) Connect to DB engine.
and it is working now. Since the DB is on a remote server, I guess I have to do this.
Thanks anyway. -
Great - thanks for letting me know. :-)
Actually I had a similar experience with the bug described in this thread. It only occurred when I opened a DB connection before opening SQL Search. http://www.red-gate.com/MessageBoard/vi ... hp?t=20504
Perhaps you can avoid your workaround with the fixed version: http://www.red-gate.com/products/sql-de ... -search/v2

It was working for a day and it stopped working later.
Catastrophic failure (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED))
and in the log all I have is this:

12:58:57.412|Info |RedGate.SIPFramework|1 |RedGate.SIPFramework version: 1.0.1.2025

Tried with no luck:
