.NET Developer Bundle installer error - Win Srv 2008 R2 SP1

Hi there,

Every time I run the .NET Developer Bundle installer on a VM running Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (64-bit) I get an error at the end of the installation process:

"Red Gate Installer has stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution to the problem."

Clicking "View Problem Details" reveals the following extra information:

N.B. I'm only installing ANTS Performance and Memory Profilers, not .NET Reflector or the profiler Visual Studio add-in.

I'm logged into the machine as a user with domain admin rights.

Note that, despite the error, the profilers - or at least APP anyway, I haven't used AMP yet - are successfully installed, so it's not a disaster; just an irritant.

Thanks,

Bartdude, I'll try and emulate your set up and get to the bottom of it....

So, no general problems and I've seen that exception code before (buffer overflow exception(!))

In the past we have recommended this:

-In case the installer is corrupted and/or the error is permissions related, kindly download the following installer: ftp://ftp.red-gate.com/DotNETDeveloperBundle.zip and try running it as administrator

    -Try disabling any anti-virus

-Try disabling Data Execution Prevention (DEP)
