Ability to set global options for all new projects

  there is no built in way of doing this in the beta I'm afraid. The easiest approach is as follows -
  
  1) Create a new project with the options that you always use. Give it a comment so that you can remeber it amongst all projects
  2) When you need to create a new project right click the project created in 1) and choose 'Clone'
  3) Edit the DataSources for the project you create in 2) and then hit compare now
  
  Admittedly this is a bit of a workaround. We will see if anything can be done for the final release.

  Can this clone option be added to SQL Data Compare as it is only available on SQL Compare?

  The clone option will be in the final release of Data Compare, unfortunately it didn’t quite make it into the beta.
  
  You can always do it manually for now if you are setting up projects to use later - just copy the appropriate file under C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Red Gate\SQL Data Compare 5 and restart Data Compare.
