Failed to retrieve application version.

I'm using version 4.1.207 and trying to install the server component but keep getting this error:

checking service application version
Failed to retrieve application version.

Ensure that the service application has been started. Note that the service application cannot be started if your trial has expired.

I have activitate this version to the pro edition so it is no longer a trial ... any sugguestions?

    Can you try starting the SQL Backup Agent service manually on that server?

    I have stopped and restarted the services successfully.

    If the file version of the service app (SQBCoreService.exe) is 4.1, then it's been upgraded.
