Tab Magic is really just an extension of SQL Prompt. It caches what's in your query tabs while you use SSMS and will reload any queries that are open when you restart SSMS.

Hello Brian,
First of all, thank you for the reply.
When I take a look at the Tab Magic page on the Red-gate website I see a few screenshots. When you take a look at the following screenshot you'll see that in the upper left corner there is a button called "Recently closed tabs". Where can I find this button?

Thanks in advance. -
The add-in must not be loading. Have you uninstalled/reinstalled Tab Magic? Also, make sure you're on a supported version of SSMS. I don't think 2012 is supported yet.

Hello Brian,
I've allready uninstalled Tab Magic twice.
The version of SSMS is 2005. -
Strange - the add-in should either load or throw an exception trying to load.
-
Is there a possibility to activate the Add-in manually?
-
It wouldn't be easy.
If you go to the SSMS Toolbar to "add/remove buttons" and then "Customize", can you select "SQL Tab Magic"? Maybe the toolbar is just hidden. -
Hello Brian,
I tried to remove and install it again, but it still doesn't appear in SSMS.
Maybe I have to be patient and wait until the next version will be available. -
Maybe your EAP has expired? You can always download again and install the latest EAP. http://www.red-gate.com/products/sql-de ... qltabmagic

Hello Brian,
I tried this version, but still no Tab Magic.
In a few months we will upgrade from SQL 2005 to SQL 2008. Maybe I'll have to wait until I install the SSMS from 2008.
Thanks for your help anyway... -
Hi,
Apparently it's not working with SSMS 2005. Sorry I can't find this documented anywhere. -
Brian.,
I will have to wait untill our upgrade then.
Anyway, thanks for clearing it up for me...

I installed Tab Magic today, but I cannot find it anywhere in SSMS.
I'm using SQL Prompt 5.2.2.1 and SSMS 9.00.5.000.00
This might be a stupid question, but I symply cannot find it.
Thanks...
