    Thanks for all that.

Can I get you to try linking a database to an "Evaluation Repository" and see if the same problem occurs?

Do you know what version of SVN your server is using?

It crashed with the evaluation? You said that was successful earlier. Or it crashed with your SVN server?
Can you let us know the *version* of SVN the server uses?

OK, with the same kind of error? Or something else?

OK - is it possible it crashed after you accessed one of the db's that's still connected to the SVN server rather than the evaluation?

We'd still like to know the version of the svn server if possible - it may be that certain versions may have got an incompatibility with the new version of SQL Source Control but we need to know what version you're running to check this.

In any case can you please find out your SVN Server version?

We are experiencing the exact same problem. Is there any update on the status of this? We need this working (or some way to downgrade and make it work) asap. Thanks!

The cause is still being investigated - if you can confirm the version of SVN your *server* uses it would be useful though.

You can downgrade by uninstalling, then re-downloading the main download from the RedGate website as I don't believe the update was rolled in to the main download yet.

Has this been resolved? We are still having issues with this crashing SSMS and can NO longer access source control for SOME databases on 3.0.5. Is there somewhere my colleague can download 3.0.4.40? I'm running that and it works, but I don't have the installer package any longer. We want to downgrade him back to this version that is stable while the 3.0.5 problem is worked out.

    Thanks

The main product download should be the working version - from here

    Are you also using SVN?

Ok, great. We (falsely) assumed 3.0.5 was on the site downloads. This will get us back online. Thanks.

No SVN, we are using TFS 2010.

Interesting - up till now we've been thinking it may be an SVN problem as we updated the client in the new build, but if you're working with TFS this is perhaps not the case.

Yes, client system is XP/32bit, SQL 2008 R2 SP1 tools connecting to SQL 2005 Ent SP4.

    Client 3.0.4.40 = ok

One of our devs updated to 3.0.5 and could no longer let the "Commit Changes" tab load. It would crash SSMS.

Meanwhile, out 3.0.4.40 clients could fully load the "Commit Changes" tab.

He just uninstalled 3.0.5 and reinstalled 3.0.4.40 and all is well.

This is why I don't allow auto updates on my own system anymore. Who knows what can break between. "If it aint broke..." :)

Any plans on addressing this problem, RedGate?

We're still trying to establish the cause- so far we've not been able to replicate the problem in house at all.

You could try this build which has helped in one or two cases - please let us know:
