In the SQL Compare 3.x GUI, there was a porential for the docking 'detail' windows to be closed and essentially 'disappear'. To get them back, you can click any object in the comparison results (upper window) and the details window will come back again.
Can you please send us a screenshot of your SQL Compare window?
