Removing old SQL Refactor and SQL Prompt 4 menus

In a future early access release, we will add the capability to remove the old SQL Refactor and SQL Prompt 4 menus automatically when SQL Prompt 5 is installed.

For now, these menus will remain but none of the commands will work.

If you want to remove the old menus manually, you can go to Tools -> Customize -> Toolbars -> Menubar -> Reset .

Then restart SSMS to make the SQL Prompt 5 menu re-appear.

I tried this and the old menus disappeared but the SQL Prompt 5 menu did not reappear.

markv: Is SQL Prompt 5 still installed (check the Control Panel)? Which version of SSMS are you using? Does uninstalling and reinstalling SQL Prompt 5 make the menu come back?

    Thanks,

If I recall, I had completely to uninstall SQL Prompt 5 and reinstall it before it would reappear. Though I suspect I had to do that more than once for some reason.

    I'm using SQL 2008 R2 SSMS.
