Why not just use visual studio?

I've been a happy and regular user of SQL Compare for a number of years. However my boss doesn't want to renew the licenses as he says Visual Studio (certain editions) can offer all the same functionalities. I know that this is more or less true, but as I'm quite attached to SQL Compare, and a little wary of losing functionality, I would like to know if there are any concrete differences in the detail of what's possible and what's not.

(It was also suggested that we wouldn't need SQL prompt anymore as SQL2008 has intellisense....luckily we were able to show that the two are not comparable.)

Thanks for your input.

David.
