COPYTO: Failing...Solution

Just wanted to let people know here we have a couple of Win2003 servers and doing a COPYTO command to get the files copied off to a NAS drive kept failing on us.

Only way to get the thing to work was to run the SQL Agent Service under a profile that had special rights, localsystem would not work for us.

    If you are using the copyto, or backing up to, a remote location the process running the task must have permissions to write there.

    I would recommend the option that you have found which is to run the SQL Agent as a domain user and assign permissions for the remote location.
