sql promp is very slow

Hi all... :(
SQL prompt is so slow, still helps with all the files and stuff. so I use it on tables I'm not all that familiar with. Why is it so slow. To type in ‘select * from’ takes like 9 seconds… grrr. I’ve had a look at the graphics accelerator, but it makes little difference. What else can I look and tweak to improve the speed issue.

    have uninstalled video drivers, and control panel, and reinstalled only the driver, still same slow response.

    thanks for the reply,
    ok as before I've reinstalled the drivers and - no change.
    Uninstalled a bunch of other apps - no change
    Then I when back to square one and removed all hardware accelerations on the graphincs card, took me like 5 minutes to clear all the error messages. but sql prompt was lightning. only problem is that I cannot run half of the apps I need to run and use on a daily basis...

    Aaahh hee haa FIXED, the it support guys loaded the old drivers so like most I have gone behind there back and installed the latest display drivers and all is good now. Sorry to have put you through this!
