Hi Jason if you use the Redgate PowerShell module you can create a script to suspend or restart the monitoring, this is what we do to allow our azuresql dbs to auto pause. bit of a faff when you update monitor as you have to also download the PowerShell module again. but aside from that it works ok. Certainly saved us some azure costs / comments
