It is unfortunate and puzzling that ADS is still not supported. Per Microsoft, ADS is now actually the preferred platform for SQL writing (Azure Data Studio FAQ - Azure Data Studio | Microsoft Learn). I have recently switched from SSMS to ADS. / comments
