This is frustrating, I usually deploy different branch database projects locally for comparison, so it's handy to change the name of the database in SSMS but as others have mentioned, clicking on the database creates a Redgate connection and the suggestions listed do not fix this. If you're a Visual Studio (VS) user, I'd suggest opening your SQL Server Object Explorer pane through VS as this doesn't fire off this circular connection issue. / comments
