I suspect RedGate is now ignoring these threads about tab history.
Older versions are still here - you can change the URL to view the point releases 10.13 (sql history) and 10.12 (Tab History) but that one has a threading bug so you need to let it finish loading and type your search quick so it does not filter as you type (throws a semaphore exception but does not crash SSMS so you can just try again) SQL Prompt 10.12 release notes - SQL Prompt 10 - Product Documentation (red-gate.com) I recomend downloading them soon - I wonder if they may eventually remove versions that contain unsupported features like Tab History btw - I just posted a comment regarding issues I have with SQL History and sorting before finding this post SQL History - Sorting? — Redgate forums (red-gate.com) / comments

Older versions are still available - you can change the URL to view the point releases 10.13 (sql history) and 10.12 (Tab History). The latest 10.12 has a threading bug so you need to let it finish loading and type your search quick so it does not filter as you type (throws a semaphore exception but does not crash SSMS so you can just try again) Try 10.12.4.29949 - Released on 21 September 2022 as this seems to not have that issue. Not sure which version start having that issue so a later one might be ok too. I am going to stick with this version for now. Update - Ctrl-F now works but it was after I hid the SQL history window and showed it again with the keyboard. On first creating the window, it did not work. Its weird that putting the cursor in the search box hides all the SQL history that shows when opening the window initially. I finally installed .13 to try it again. Ctrl-Shift-X does open it now. However, Ctrl-F just opens the normal Find box when the SQL History page is forcused Does Ctrl-F still work for you? That is the default mapping for Ctrl-F and I use that feature often too so don't really want to change that. Also, I can ctrl-tab into SQL History but not out of it. Once there, the only way out that I can see is to use the mouse. Hitting Ctrl-F4 does not close SQL history but will close SQL tabs behind it. Would be nice if it closed via ESC so it works more like a popup and not a tool window but I Ctrl-F4 would be ok too... This feature still requires frequent use of the mouse which really slows things for me - I primarily navigate via keyboard in SSMS and VS and this gets in the way of that [image] / comments

Thanks for the info! Being hard coded makes me think they rushed this one out [image] I'll consider trying the new version again despite having other functional issues with SQL History as a replacement for Tab History. Maybe it will grow on me now that there is at least a shortcut. Wish they would allow both to coexist for a while... / comments

I just got this error today with the latest version 10.12.4. Once it started, I could reset the service to unlock the files and view tab history. However, this kept happening most times I opened a tab and Every Time I tried to add a Star to a tab. It would hang a few seconds and then show the error. I had to kill SSMS when closing since that also threw the error which blocked a clean shutdown. I uninstalled and downgraded to 10.12.1 and so far, it's been ok - (at least for 30 min so far) Has any progress in addressing this issue been made? / comments
