I'll add some thoughts to this one. The sorting is horrible, once you search there appears to be no logic as to what will show up in the listing; even when using advanced search. A default sort of date would be wonderful, or better yet give us options in the Advanced Search for Sort By where we can pick a default or change to what we want to see. On the main page before searching grouping based on naming is useless because not everyone is saving every query with a logical name so we are accustomed to having SQLQuery##.sql as a name, so on any given day I may have 50 different queries that i've opened up and closed that all have SQLQuery1.sql as the "name" but they have nothing to do with each other so the History Grouping is a mis-mash of 50 different things and doesn't help us find anything. I've seen a lot of maybe you should use this or that, but I've dug through the limited documentation available and it's not helpful and not even you guys have updated quick reference to include the new History stuff https://assets.red-gate.com/products/sql-development/sql-prompt/assets/sql-prompt-quick-reference.pdf / comments

Same thing thing for me, just updated to Version 10.12.6.30951 and Tab History will come up once clicked, if you don't type anything it will display items after a few seconds, but once you actually type anything to search then it waits a few seconds and throws the semaphor timeout error. It was working without issue prior to the update. @Jon_Kirkwood, Just wondering if the sit-down occurred and if so what was the outcome. Jumped over to this forum post from the other forum post (SQL PROMTP: The semaphore timeout period has expired. Since upgrade today) since no one from Red-Gate has addressed anything in that post. It might be beneficial to combine the post if possible. Anxiously awaiting news on the new version to resolve this. / comments

Thanks everyone for your due diligence in providing feedback. I did have to revert to a previous version myself. Going to be a little more cautious next time and ignore updates for a week or so before installing. / comments

Just verified that it is SQL Prompt, turning off ranked suggestions made a marked improvement and putting automatically show suggestions after x milliseconds up to 1000, seemed to help a little. But turning off enable suggestions altogether and my cursor is back to normal speed. But that defeats the whole purpose of SQL Prompt. Will wait to see if anyone else chimes in and if not I will re-install an older version tomorrow, because this version is nuttier than a bag of squirrel poop. / comments
