Hi Stephanie, Thanks again for your great answer! I heard about Redgate Change Control from the forum here... I think one message from Kendra Little was talking about it, I'm not sure where I heard from it really, sorry. Again, if you need some beta tester on this (mostly for migrating from SCA), I would like to help! Eric / comments

Hi Greg, By yelling and telling them that they are dragging their feet, they will communicate better? I guess if you're using this tool, you know that software development is not always simple and yes, sometimes you think you can have it done rapidly and it ends up taking more time. I guess what I'm trying to say is: Be nice and understanding when asking for information, you might be surprised. Eric / comments

Guys come on! Yes it will be nice to have support for 2022, but how do you know they are dragging their feet? It can be much more complex than you think it is. Anyway, 2022 is still a month away :upside down: / comments

I downloaded the latest version of the toolbelt, but none of the tools can be successfully installed, RedGate Client service is not able to start. In the logs, I get the same error as reported by George / comments

Hello Roseanna, We used to have an homegrown system doing the diff between 2 DBs and then generating the SQL Code needed to go from one to the other. This has worked for quite some time, but we always had to double check what it was doing. When we decided to go with SQL 2017 and the implementation of Columnstore indexes, we knew it would be too much work to make it work in our system. We decided to give a try to SQL Change Automation and we are very happy with the result. Yes, there is some gotchas that we have to double check, sometime the generated diff is not efficient and since our databases are very large (~5TB), we must make sure that the migration is done efficiently. I love the way the code is managed with each object in its own file. At the end, the migration to SQL 2017 with Columstore indexes is completed and it went pretty smoothly! SCA helps us stay on top of SQL Server functionalities and offers a much better code management for us! Regards, Eric Lamontagne / comments
