Formatting first of all - makes even the ugliest code more readable. Warning of no 'WHERE' clause. It might not sound much, but a few years ago my company wasn't interested in paying for Prompt. Somebody wiped an entire table instead of a few rows and it took two weeks to get the data back. Didn't have a problem purchasing it after that. The 'Intellisense' prompting is very useful. The new AI can be quite interesting. I find it helps me when I have 'writer's block' and can't recall some of the more basic commands. Highlight one parenthesis and the corresponding parenthesis is highlighted too (although it could do with being more noticeable) - that is a Gift from the Gods! / comments

SQL Monitor has a very small overhead when it is monitoring a server. It uses a lot of standard queries that SQL already executes for it's own purposes and any additional queries are quite 'light'. We have a small number of very large and extremely active databases - we noticed no increased activity when we first insalled Redgate Monitor. However, if you're thinking of installing SQL Monitor onto the same SQL server that you want to monitor, don't. Ideally, SQL Monitor should be on it's own server. If you install it onto the same server that you are monitoring, if that server has issues, SQL Monitor might not be accessible and might not be able to record any activity. / comments

Yes you can - it's a setup that we have here. Not ideal but it works fine. / comments

Can I complete the survey a second time? I made the assumption that the holiday that we were about to book would take priority, but my amazing wife has just suggested that I go to the conference and we plan our holiday around that, instead! I need to change the options I chose, because I intend to be there. / comments

You'll need to treat it as a new installation. Because your current database is on 2017, you can't move it to a lower version of SQL. / comments

I'm happy to give a hand with this. I manage licenses and hear enough from my manager about the purchasing experience. / comments
