My upgrade issue has nothing to do with version conflicts.
Istead of remote upgrade server components from GUI, I did a local manuel upgrade. Run the SQBServerSetup.exe from the "main SQL backup server" folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Red Gate\SQL Backup 9) / comments

First choice is working for me, because I have the full backup file.
My mistake was trying to do both full and diff restore jobs with the same tool.
