The server is running x64 version of SQL Server 2005 so this sounds exactly like the problem.

Hi,
I'm getting the same problem here. Just select 2 SQL Server 2000 databases on different machines and get:
"Object Not Set to an instance of an Object"
This happens and the screen displays "Registering Databases" and under that "SERVER.DATABASE-Reading object text", where SERVER is the server name and DATABASE is the database name.
