Sucessfull install and first test run
Thus far everything is working great. A nice to have would be the ability to profile a remote system. (I assume this would require an agent on the remote machine, but be able to see the results o...

Hi Barry,
Thanks. Now I understand what sort of problem we're dealing with here. So basically we're not deleting the job, and it's not just a problem with the UI being updated.
Could you tell me how you have sql backup configured to connect to sql server? I'm wondering if this could be something to do with permissions.
Thanks
Alan.
Alan,
I found the issue, for grins I uninstalled and reinstalled, just to be sure the version and that I did not do anything stupid.
After the re-install, I next tried to delete ALL the jobs I had (on this server I had 5). 4 for the jobs would not delete (even though the message box said they did). The 5th one did delete. The 5th job was one I created after my first install of the beta.
The other 4 where either from the alpha or from SSMS.
If SQL Backup cannot delete jobs from SSMS, then the message box should not indicate a sucess.
BTW, I'm Brian, not Barry!...
Thanks

Hi Barry,
Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to reproduce the problem. The GUI should update every 30 seconds, does this look like it was the case for you? Do you know if it was only the jobs tab that wasn't updating?
Also I've made the assumption you have the SQL Backup 5.0 server components installed. Is this the case or are you looking at jobs on a 4.x server?
Thanks
Alan.
Alan,
Why is the tab a scheduled refresh instead of a real-time refresh. The deletion confirmation message box implies the job refresh was sucessful, therefore I would expect to see the job removed.
After I attempt to delete a job, and get a sucessful message, the jobs remain. I have closed the tool and reopened but they still remain.
I'm running only the 5.0 server components on that machine.
Thanks
Brian
in SSMS, I can still see the jobs listed. / comments

Hi,
Thanks for taking the time to look at the beta and for giving us feeback.
When you delete the job, is it a job you created with sql backup? Also could you please tell me what operating system and sql server versions you are using?
Thanks
Alan.
Hi Alan,
The jobs where all new, save 1 which was a SSIS package. The os is XP Pro and the SQL Server is SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition.
Thanks
