Pete,
The way I have it set up is the pop up only comes up when I ask it to (with CTRL + Space). This way when I know exactly what I'm typing it doesn't interfere. However this means that snippets do not work and the completion keys just do what you would expect them to do in any other text editor. So to use the snippet I have to bring up the candiate list. It's OK but not great.
What I would like is some kind of auto insertion of snippets.

Bart,
My bad, I was assuming that the refresh exe was an upgrade not a replacement.
That worked just fine. And now I can connect to my SQL Server 7 servers. Whoopee :-)

User snippets do not get saved between sessions for me either.
Given that I also am having troulbe saving excluded servers (see http://www.red-gate.com/MessageBoard/viewtopic.php?t=3857), is this a more general problem?

Bart,
I don't know if this would be of use to you or not but I can give you a trace on the file requests where the path or file name contains "SQL Prompt 3" when I open QA with SQL Prompt enabled.
I used the SysInternals program Filemon to generate it.

I have to say I agree. SQL Prompt 2 was an excellent product that needed some changes to improve things like the slow performance, but I'm not sure it need the radical interface changes we've seen with 3.
I've only bought the one license with the view to checking it out before recommending it as "standard" issue on all our developers ans support peoples PCs. So far it will not be getting that recommendation. [image]

I do not know if this might cause this issue but my copy of SQL Prompt is not installed in the default directory.
Also, how do I edit the file by hand?

Problem is I don't have any snippets to compare it with. I'm trying to stop it trying to connect to some servers, but don't know the XML tags required.

Sorry, tried that with exactly the same results.
Having renamed the file I restarted SQL Prompt saw a new file with the same name get created, tried the ignore function, but with no success.
It just looks like the file is not being saved correctly.
Can I edit it directly?
