Our product team will take into consideration a whole variety of things when deciding what features to introduce, such as the direction they wish to take the product in, as well as what customers are asking for. / comments

Hi @Tony_Ward Thanks for your post. We've identified a problem with the following products causing this error:
SQL Doc 5.2.17.4123
SQL Dependency Tracker 3.3.21.4776
SQL Data Generator 4.5.10.4976
SQL Data Generator 4.5.11.5037
A temporary workaround is to uninstall or downgrade to another version. The developers are currently investigating the issue, I'll update this post as soon as there's any news. / comments

SQL Prompt, SQL Search and SQL Test are add-ins for SSMS, they don't have their own UI so you could go ahead and uninstall them. SQL Compare, SQL Data Compare SQL Source Control and SQL Doc show up in SSMS but don't depend on it, so you could remove the SSMS integration pack to remove those. But please be aware that the add-ins depend on the integration pack. / comments
