I finally isolated the problem. Or I think I did. I always got this problem when I pushed changes to a remote repository from within SSMS. I push from outside using command line or tortoisegit - and have yet to run into the problem / comments

Getting this a lot more often of late.
Trashing and recreating the repository is no longer workable as I get this error within 3 or 4 commits.

Needless to say the query in question is 100% valid.

The report error tool also seems to hang indefinitely preparing the report / comments
