Yes, I haven't selected the option "force column order".
Thanks, for your information about other differences on the object. Because, I had other differences on my object. I was confused why SQL Compare display me the wrong column order, too.
After resolving the other difference on my object SQL Compare didn't displayed the object again as a difference, although the column order is still not the same.
Thanks, for your advice. / comments

I just want to know if there is already another solution excluding deleting the old backup history?
I have seen the same query running for hours (may be more, but I stop it after 2h) what tleblanc mentioned.
It would be very nice to find a way that the GUI is working again as expected. / comments

Sorry, for the late response.
Thanks, Paul! It works fine, now. After changing the value for the entry CandidateListColumnDivider in the configuration file I see the description again. / comments

I tried the mentioned method to uninstall and downgrade to the old version 5.3.0.3. But unfortunately the problem is not solved.
Any other ideas? I could also try to delete/rename my local SQL Prompt 5 configuration folder and install SQL Prompt afterwards again.
I'm using the SSMS 2008 Build 10.0.5500.0. Do you need any other information? / comments

Basically we are using windows authentication for our SQL Backup Service and also for SQL Agent Service. Both accounts are activated and have rights to connect to the SQL Server instance.
Nevertheless, for creating backups a SQL account is used to create the backups. How can I change the SQL Account you mentioned?
For me it's no clear, how SQL Backup configured so that was still a SQL account is used. / comments

In this KB http://www.red-gate.com/supportcenter/Content/knowledgebase/SQL_Backup/KB200710000173 I see that a SQL Login has to be created.
It saids the following two things:
Create a SQL Server login that has the ability to backup (and restore) databases (y) by adding it to the SYSADMIN server
Install SQL Backup and set the service account to the domain account (x) then set the connection to the database to use the SQL Login (y). How I can change this SQL Login later? / comments
