Well, it's good to hear your timeout issues are gone. Is there anything non-standard about the problem table? What does SQL Source Control say is the change to commit? / comments

Sorry about the delay - I've been trying to find out if there's any undocumented way to configure this timeout in the config files. Consensus is that it's just a regular SQL query timeout, so not a SQL Source Control thing - you can try editing the query timeout value in SSMS and see if that helps with SQL Source Control, but of course that'll have knock-on effects for other queries as well. / comments

Does SQL Source Control give you any other error information when it throws the error, or is it just 'Timeout expired'? / comments

Just a heads-up - the latest release of SQL Source Control, which is 3.1.0.4829 should introduce full support for Vault 6. It's available via the Check for Updates functionality within the tool or from our ftp site here: ftp://support.red-gate.com/patches/SQLS ... 0.4829.exe / comments

I've emailed the devs - you appear to be the only person hitting this right now, but it's clearly a very serious issue for you, so we're doing our best to figure out what's causing this. I'll get back to you as soon as we've come up with something - sorry! / comments

Can you email us in your most recent log files? You can find SQL Prompt's log files in:
<sysroot>:\Users\<youruser>\AppData\Local\Red Gate\SQL Prompt 5
If you could email those in to support@red-gate.com and include the reference F0063211 in the subject line, I'll have a look over them and see if I can glean anything more about what's causing this error. Thanks! / comments

Thanks for your email! Unfortunately, I couldn't find much useful information in the logs. I did locate the error reports you submitted in our bug-tracking system - the bug report reference is SP-3412, for future reference. We thought we'd fixed it in the release of SQL Prompt 5.1, but we've had reports from you and another user in newer versions recently.
I see from the comments you've added that you get this problem with snippets as well - is that still happening? Can I check what version of SSMS you're using? / comments

SQL Tab Magic was originally developed as a standalone project as an experiment. When it turned out to be popular with users, we rolled it into SQL Prompt. It was originally developed for SSMS 2008 R2, before SSMS 2012 was available to the public - with the release of SQL 2012, we've got a lot of work to update all our tools to support SSMS, and since Tab Magic was always an experimental feature it's taken a bit of a back seat.
That said, the more user demand I can show to the dev team, the more likely it is to see the light of day soon, so it's good to hear from you about this. I'll let you know as soon as there's an update. / comments

I'm afraid we don't have a due date for Tab Magic in SSMS 2012 yet, but if you want to log a feature request for it on our SQL Prompt Uservoice forum ( http://redgate.uservoice.com/forums/944 ... ggestions/ ), we'd really appreciate it - we use Uservoice to judge user demand for features, so we can be sure we're doing useful work on the tools. Sorry I can't be more help right now! / comments
