I'm experiencing the same issues on an x64 cluster:
- 6.2 takes long time to go offline on failover
-after failover the (customized) settings are gone on the active node expect for the email settings.
- eventviewer states errors about not being able to save the registry:
Error per key:
Cluster service could not write to a file (C:\DOCUME~1\XXX-XX~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\CLS9C7.tmp). The disk may be low on disk space, or some other serious condition exists.
after that:
Cluster service failed to save the registry key Software\Wow6432Node\Red Gate\SQL Backup\BackupSettingsGlobal\ITMP when a resource was brought offline. The error code was 5. Some changes may be lost.
I just sent an email to support with all information I could gather.

Additionaly one small question: does it work the other way around? So can sqb files from version 5(.4) directly be used by version 6(.2) without conversion? Asking this just to be sure, since we've got multiple (clustered) servers and I'm not in the position to upgrade them all at once. / comments

A small note to reference a similar idea as self-defining email contents: http://www.red-gate.com/MessageBoard/vi ... hp?t=13141 / comments

Thanks, but that is exactly what I'm trying to avoid: scripting and running jobs to connect and collect stuff. I have a lot of that hopping around als SQL servers, databases and systems.
From my point of view: SQL Monitor generates the alert and has a nice GUI that will even be improved in the next version. Then why should I try do dive into the database myself and script a lot (and try to maintain it) to collect it to another system if the alert itself is adjustable? / comments

You might also try adding the portnumber. Windows 7/Winodws 2008 tend to block 'external connections' where the port wasn't specified. I currently always specify portnumber due to such issues (servername\instance,portnumber) / comments

Thanks. I've seen the feature in SQL Monitor 3 and will plan an update soon as we are running 2.3
Will also check if it's possible to alert on deleted databases. / comments

FYI: had not problems at all last weekend with the clocks jumping an hour forward. Curious what happens with an hour jumping back at the end of the year, but we probably are running version 3 then? [image] / comments
