Hi Lee,
I've added this to the SQL Prompt backlog. To be honest, this is the first time I've heard this one but I can understand why it would be frustrating once you are use to the normal menu positions.
If you have any more ideas or suggestions feel free to email me directly.
All the best,

Hi Dan,
Thanks for taking the time to post these suggestions.
You'll be pleased to hear: idea 3 will be in the next release, as will a count of invalid objects; and ideas 1 and 2 are highly likely shortly after.
I'll get a developer to look at 4--sounds like a bug to me.
Thanks again for the feedback.

You're right, it's a frustrating flaw, and I completely agree with your complaint. I've run into this myself a few times when writing queries.
If it were a straightforward fix, believe me, we would have tackled it already, but sadly it's part of the parser and whilst the team were keen to work on improving certain aspects of it, there was no scope to look at modifying that part of the code base in this release; the last rewrite of the parser took twelve months.
We do try our best to accommodate as many user requests as possible, but we can't solve all the problems due to resource limitations. I understand this is really frustrating for you and it's a valid complaint; it isn't that we think it's fine as it is or that it is not worth fixing, it's just that we have had higher priority issues to tackle. All that said, I will do my best to push for this fix in the future and would ask readers of this post to chip in to add weight to the case.

Hi,
Did you have SQL Search installed prior to installing the latest version or did you install it with the official release of SQL Prompt 5 (it's included in the installer)? SQL Search performs a one time indexing task that could potential take some time and hinder your SQL Prompt suggestions whilst it is indexing. If you notice the SQL Search binoculars on your toolbar try activating a search for some feedback on the state of this task.
Let me know how you get on.

Hi Brent,
Thanks for the kind words and the feedback.
Your first suggestion should make it into SQL Prompt in the new year -- we had planned to include this but decided to release now to get feedback. We plan to let you copy the list and also to display a count of invalid objects on the FIO tab.
Your second suggestion is a good one so I'll put that on the backlog though there may be some issues we need to tackle around performance first.
Thanks again for your contributions -- really useful to the team. Do feel free to email me directly should you have any more suggestions or feedback.
All the best for now,

Hi Ryan,
Thanks for the feedback and apologies for the missing shortcut.
We had to make a judgement call: SQL Refactor and SQL Prompt both have similar layout functionality but due to their histories it's assigned to different keyboard shortcuts. As we have lots more SQL Prompt users and we are continuing the SQL Prompt project, we decided to stick with the more familiar Prompt shortcut. We did consider having both shortcuts for the one function but that felt unnatural so we decided against it. Perhaps we should have included the option to pick your preferred shortcut?
The Uppercase Keywords keystroke will be back in the new year.

Hi Derek,
Thanks for the comment.
No spatial functions yet--we've not seen much demand--but if this is something an increasing number of users are keen to see then we'll reconsider it as a priority.
Please feel free to email me directly with any more feedback, suggestions or questions.

Hi Kondrich,
Thanks for downloading and trying the SQL Prompt 5 RC.
Could you please confirm what sort of connection you have between SSMS and your database--is internet or VPN involved?
