Chris,
Thanks for the reply, but we do not use DLM Automation so this will not work for me.

Chris,
If you are asking if I ran the "SQLCompare.exe \activateSerial:" from the RedGate SQLComplare directory, Yes that is the command I used. The command did not open a window.
I also attempted to activate my Oracle Schema Compare using the appropriate executeable. An activate window did open, but it requested that I login using my RedGate Account.

Alex,
Thanks, I guess this answers my questions. This is the Activation Web Page that I have used to Manually Activate my SQL Backup Pro Licenses, but I had not used it for the Compare Applications.
When I attempt to Activate the license on the EC2 instance it requests that I login to my RedGate Account. Since I do not have Internet Access, I am stopped from getting any further with the activation process.
As I feared, I will need internet access in order to activate my licenses.

Thank you again Alex,
I have one additional comment to add for any RedGate Tech that may see this post. I installed a version update on my desktop to my Oracle Compare that required me to reactivate my license. I was not able to activate the license even though I was logged into RedGate.com, I did get the manual activate screen and was able to successfully activate the license.
This says to me that internet access is required to activate licenses, either automatically or manually.

Jessica,
I have the latest release of Search (2.4) and have recently installed the latest release of SSMS 17.0 but do not see the RedGate Tab on the Toolbar menu.
Is there an additional step that I need to do to activate Search?

Dan,
I have run several days with the SQL Backup Patch (8.0.1.405) and have not had any errors. I consider this problem fixed.

Dan,
I have deployed the change to several of the servers that were failing consistently. So far I have not had any recurrence of the thread issue. If I have no problems in the next few days, I will be redeploying to my development environment next week.

The backup error does show that this is an SQL Error. However, these errors did not occur in SQL Backup Editions 7.7 and earlier. Now with SQL Backup 8.0, I have 1 - 4 failures each night from different servers. The backup job will backup several databases successfully, then one database backup will fail with a RedGate 790, then the remaining databases will backup successfully.
I have also conducted additional testing and have found that setting Minimum Memory for the SQL instance has eliminated most of these errors, but I still have errors on several servers during the week. And even this change does not eliminate the problem on some servers. / comments

I added the reqistry entry for VDITimeout. Apparently it was not enough time to correct the error. I have changed it to 90 seconds.
By changing the registry setting, I am now getting the VDI 1010 error. And I am see where the backup is being retried and succeeding.
