Hi Juanita,
thanks for your question. While Query Analyzer is running, SQL Prompt always has an open connection to SQL Server to retrieve schema information of individual objects. This is not a problem in most cases, however, for some operations SQL Server requires exclusive access to a database. For example, when you want to delete a database, or when you want to restore it from a backup. To be able to do this, without closing down SQL Prompt, we have included the Close all connections button.

Hi,
thanks for posting. Could you let us know what your regional settings are, and what version your Query Analyzer is (including what language it is)?

Hi Chris,
thanks for reporting these issues. We are aware of the case issue and will fix it in SQL Prompt 3. It is also on our list to improve the automatic pop-up behaviour of the candidate list, so hopefully that will deal with the problem of the parenthesis. Having said that, I can still get the candidate list to pop up using Ctrl + Space after I've used parenthesis.

Yes, Version 2 doesn't work on non-English systems. Yes, we will fix this in Version 3.

Hi,
I'm afraid there are issues with using SQL Prompt 2 on non-English systems, i.e. it doesn't work. Using an English keyboard layout might help. Version 3 will work with all (most?) languages.

Hi,
I'm afraid you can't use space to insert. (I find it annoying, too, if that's any consolation.) We are aiming to make SQL Prompt 3 more like the Visual Studio intellisense and 'space to insert' is part of that.

Hi David,
thanks for posting. We are aware of performance issues with large databases and are trying to improve it in the next version. I'm afraid the current version is as good as it is going to get.

Hi Wayne,
Thanks for posting. Again, this isn't currently possible, SQL Prompt displays the names as they were entered into the database. I will suggest that we have a 'lowercase identifiers' option in version 3.

Hi,
I'm afraid that is currently not possible. If you feel strongly about this, let us know, maybe we can include it in the next version.

Hi,
thanks for posting. As far as software is concerned, you need an English Windows 2000 or above. It currently works with Query Analyzer, Management Studio, Visual Studio 2003 & 2005, Ultra Edit, Edit Plus. I'm afraid I can't give you any hard and fast rules where the hardware is concerned, but some users have had issues which seemed to be related to insufficient hardware. Sorry, I can't give you any specifics.
