Hi Cowski,
I just had a look at your error report and it looks like it's throwing an exception on trying to create the Tab History form complaining it can't find the resources to create it (they're definitely there as I can see them if I install on a clean VM). Since we've mostly just got error reports from your machine I'm wondering if there's something specific about it that's resulting in this exception.
Just to clarify, is this intermittently happening ("off and on") or does it happen every single time the button is clicked? and did it only start occurring a couple of weeks ago, and before that it was fine?
Thanks,
Aaron.
Aaron,
It was working fine up to a couple of weeks ago. And the error is consistent. I have no way of getting into the Tab History at all. Before that, it worked like a champ! Loved it!! Used it very often. And now I miss it. [image]

I was going to uninstall as you suggested, Aaron. Closed SSMS 2012 and went to Programs and Features to uninstall SQL Prompt.
I r-clicked on SQL Prompt 6 & noticed "Uninstall" and "Repair". Okay...let's try repair first befor uninstalling. Ran it and reloaded SSMS 2012 and clicked on Tab History. BOOM!! There are my tabs!!
So as the cliche' says, "Moving forward...." If someone encounters something such as this. Close SSMS, run the repair feature within the Program and Features section of SQL Prompt 6 and it hopefully will rectify the issue. If not, uninstall & reinstall.
Thanks, Aaron for getting me started on this!! Tell your manager I said you could have the rest of the day off for helping me! If he has issues with that, he's welcome to contact me!

In checking my Add/Remove programs I did not find a "SQL Response Alert Repository 1" on my list.
Here is a screenshot of the alphabetical listing of my Add/Remove programs & what is left: [image]
Is there a "backdoor" to uninstall this? I would really like to keep using the software but it's just not in the company' budget at this time. Hopefully soon. :?
Sidenote...SQL Prompt 4 is the expired demo. Waiting on the $$$ to pay for that. / comments

Kirkkelly has some very good suggestions!
My additions to this are:
1. Search feature with the potential of a wildcard search. Example if we're looking for a certain sproc...type it in the search & it will return a web page with every location this sproc is located in.
2. The ability to edit descriptions for tables, views, etc. with the capability of the updated description to be added back to the database.
3. A quick refresh for descriptions for example. So if something was recently changed in SSMS you can refresh that particular page to show your update without rerunning then entire SQL Doc for that server when only 1 small change was made.
4. Along those lines, for reporting purposes only, a editable section for nearly every page.
This is just a start. Overall I am 100% TOTALLY blown away by this product! It takes a lot to impress me nowadays with software after being in the industry for over 25 years. This software thoroughly impresses me!! Keep up the great work, Red-Gate!! / comments

I created a new table, tried refreshing the suggestions in SQL Prompt, also disconnected & reconnected to my SQL Server instance. The new table still would not show up.
But once I closed out SSMS & started it up again, the new table was finally there.
This is truly disturbing for a program that's so handy, useful...and expensive.
I hope this is fixed in a future version that my company will be able to get as a free upgrade. / comments

Hi Michael,
I think it would help to clarify two points:
Refreshing suggestions applies only to the database to which you are currently connected.
SQL Prompt automatically refreshes a database's objects when you close down your query editor application, then re-open it and re-connect to that database.
So if I'm reading this correctly, your saying that if a object is created, or MANY objects are created on another server & I'm running linked servers, I have to exit all the way out of SSMS and log back into SSMS in order for the dropdown to refresh?? Isn't this extremely inconvenient for a program that is nearly $300??:!: :x :!: There isn't a shortcut to do this? Or is this feature on the VERY NEAR horizon?? / comments
