Hi Lee,
I'm really sorry you're running into this problem. We've been spending a lot of development effort looking at dependencies, and we're hoping that our next EAP release (coming soon - in a week or two) will address this problem.
Will post again when the new build is ready!
Thanks,

Hi Eric,
Thanks for your post.
We have a known issue with mapping schema names within PL/SQL blocks (i.e. we currently don't do that, sorry).
We're hoping to fix this, and implement an "ignore constraint names" option before v1.
Are there any other project options that you'd want to see in Schema Compare?
Thanks,

We've just released our new early access build that now maps schema names within PL/SQL blocks correctly.
Please give it a try - any feedback is much appreciated.

Hi,
Thanks for your post and for trying out the early access build.
Schema Compare for Oracle doesn't currently support synonyms, but we are planning to for v1.
We'd really appreciate it if you could send us some query snapshots of your database schema. You should find the RedGate.Oracle.CreateQuerySnapshot.exe program in the install directory of Schema Compare for Oracle. This tool stores the results of the queries we run against the database when registering.
It’s possible that the file generated might be quite big, so it might be necessary to zip it up before emailing it over. If it’s still too big to send, let me know and I’ll provide details of an FTP site.
Thanks,

Hi,
There are Previous and Next buttons on the SQL Differences pane (at the bottom of the results grid). These should help navigate through the differences.
There's also the orange bar, in the left scroll bar on the same pane. This shows you the location in the script of the lines that are different. You can click on the scroll bar to jump you to the relevant differences too.
Hope this helps,

Hi,
Thanks for your feedback.
For objects that are identical except for the schema name, the SQL Differences pane at the bottom will highlight the schema difference in orange, but the object should appear in the 'identical objects' group.
If this isn't the case then is it possible for you to send me (alice.easey@red-gate.com) an example of the script on both sides (source and target) where the object is identical but appearing as different?
Thanks,

We've just released our latest early access build.
We've made considerable improvements to the way we're handling constraints and would really appreciate it if you could try out the latest build and let us know what you think.

Hi,
Can you give us an idea of specifically which types you would want to regularly compare, and which ones you're not interested in comparing?
Thanks!

Thanks for posting the stack trace. To help us track down what's going on, can you turn on logging and send us the log file?
This help file explains how to turn on logging: http://www.red-gate.com/supportcenter/C ... ta_Compare\knowledgebase\logging_and_log_files.htm
If you send the log to me at alice.easey@red-gate.com, that'd be great.
Thanks,

Can you tell us if you're using the latest build (1.0.0.475)?
If not, can you try downloading it from here - we believe we have fixed this issue in that build.
Please try it out and let us know!
