Hi Jonathan,
Sorry for problems you are having. We would definitely try to improve UI for this particular part in V 2.0.
As far as the recommendation checks are concerned. The default recommendation check frequency is every 5 hour provided the config file has not been changed. I am sending you a PM regarding this in detail.
Thanks,

Hi,
Sorry that's a mistake on our part not to make this clear.
So SQL Response has a client and Alert Repository. Client is not licensed so you can install it on as many machines as you like. All the data is part of your Alert Repository.
You need just one license key for each server you are moniroting irrespective of the number of SQL Server instance on it. But licensing takes into considertion your Alert Repository also. So if you monitor the same machine from two different Alert Repository then you will need two license keys.
Please read help or ask us if you need more information. http://www.red-gate.com/supportcenter/C ... c79499.htm
This is from help page. Note: If you have installed multiple Alert Repositories, then you cannot share licenses between them. You will need a new license for any SQL Server you want to monitor using a different Alert Repository.
So in your case. I will install the Alert Repository and then register all the SQL Server instance I want to monitor. After that I will install only client on other machines and then connect to this repository.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Are you both monitoring the same PC?
If this is the case, then I would just install the SQL Response client on your friend's machine and then connect to the Alert Repository which you have configured.
This will also save you licenses.
Hope this helps.

Hi Eric,
SQL Response runs DBCC SHOWCONTIG with FAST option to get index fragmentation.
SQL Response polls servers at different rates for different checks.
SQL Response 1.3 supports scheduling index fragmentation scan. So if you are concerned about the performance when SQL Response is scanning the index then please use this feature. I am sending you a PM to tell the steps you have to do to schedule this.
Thanks,

Hi,
No, you cannot clear a recommendation. It removes itself when the condition which triggered the recommendation no longer exists.
But having said that, do you think you would like to suppress recommendations even when the condition which triggered still exists?
Thanks,

Hi,
I get your point.
SQL Response checks for recommendation every few hours. If you have now configured your enviornment and disabled/ changed config parameter for particular recommendation then it should go off when the next time that particular recommendation is checked again. So eventually all the disabled one should clear itself. But if this is not happening in your environment then please do let us know. It might be a bug then.
Thanks,

Hi,
Sorry for the inconvenience.
SQL Response is licensed per physical server/ machine. You do not need any license for the machine on which you have installed your Alert Repository (provided you are not monitoring the SQL Server instance on alert repository machine). You only need a license for the machine on which your monitored SQL Server instance resides. Even if you have more than one SQL Server instance on the same machine, you will just need one license key.
Could you please raise a support request at support@red-gate.com, so that we can look into this issue? Please send us your license key also in the email.
Thanks,
