Hi Lori,
On the left hand navigation, expand and then select the SQL Server. This will then show you 'SQL Server Overview'. You would be able to view all the sql counters on this page e.g. Batch requests/ sec, Page splits/ sec etc.
If it is working as expected then you would also see list of database on this page. Click on the name of any the database and you should be able to view 'Database overview'.
Let us know if you see sparlines here or not? Also, are there any connection errors for these SQL Servers?
Thanks,

Hi,
Apologies for the error.
Would it be possible to use 'Looking back in time' functionality in Overviews and verify whether data is present for that period (time range which you are trying to plot on Analysis page) for the problematic counters on Overviews?
Also, are there any errors on Configuration > Monitored servers page? Are you seeing this issue for any particular SQL Server or all of your SQL Server?
Thanks,

Hi,
Thanks for your post.
'Log backup overdue' alert should only get raised if the model of the database is full or bulk logged. SQL Monitor shouldn't raise this alert if the model is simple. Could you please verify the model of these database where 'Log backup overdue' alert is raised?
'Log backup overdue' alert checks for both full and log backups. If either is done in last x days (as per configuration) then this alert will end.
To exclude any database from an particular alert, go to
1. Configuration > Alert Settings.
2. Select Machine > SQL Server > Database in the left hand pane.
3. Select 'Log backup overdue' in right hand pane.
4. Then use 'Customize settings for this level' option.
Or alternatively, you can select the 'Log backup overdue' alert in Alert Inbox and open the Actions > Configure. Read this topic for more information http://www.red-gate.com/supportcenter/Content?p=SQL%20Monitor&c=SQL_Monitor/help/2.1/SM_CustomizingAlerts.htm&toc=SQL_Monitor/help/2.1/toc1340320.htm

Hi,
Thanks a lot for your feedback. We will try to include query duration information in alert details. I have logged this as SRP-2905.

The long-running query alert doesn't show the duration. Is that because we are supposed to just assume that it exceeded the threshold? It would be helpful to know how long it actually took to complete.
Hi,
Just a quick note to say that this feature has been implemented for V 2.3 release.

Hi Kevan,
Thanks for confirming. We will try to modify this for next release. Regarding configurable email subject, they are quite difficult to implement. We are reviewing email functionality for next release and will try our best to improve this.

Hi Kevan,
Thanks a lot for your feedback.
The reason for having SQL Monitor at the start in subject was that we received feedback from users where they wanted to use outlook rule. Also, few users wanted the alert id in subject so that ones they have dealt with alert then they can delete the email looking at alert id in the subject.
Having said all that I do get the point that you dont want to open each email to see the most important information about the alert. Do you think that something on this line will work better for you?
"SM devsql-uk01 > (local) | Long-running query (Raised - Low) | 458842"

Hi,
There are can be various reasons as why a particular data collection is failing.
If a particular data collection is failing then the first thing I would do is to check whether the account you are using to connect to SQL Server and Machine has required permission or not. Most of the time it doesn't work because the permissions are not correct. You can check the list of permissions here in help file: http://www.red-gate.com/supportcenter/C ... 340335.htm
Regarding perfmon issue, what exact error message you are getting in 'Monitored servers' page. Could you please click on 'Show log' and send us the error message? Could you also check that the permissions are correct and 'Remote registry' service is running?
Thanks,
