Hi Michelle,
My apologies, I wasnt aware that changing the checkbox value had an effect on the number of steps that were followed in the wizard. In that case then, yes, my proposal would make it more 'clicky' for everyone.
Maybe an option on the backup step to cancel it would be a way to get out of the problem I had - I didnt want a schema snapshot and the native backup was failing (due to the bug you detail above) so had to choose from Cancel and start again or <Back all the way through the wizard to deselect the backup option?
Glad you seem to have the bug fixed for release.
Thanks

Dominic,
having a third tab on step 3 of the wizard wouldn't make the process any longer - we can only pick one tab to change settings and then move forward. The tabs effectively work like a group option buttons. Users would pick schema snapshot, full backup or no backup and they are away(settings saved with project are a great idea).
can I email you an image? / comments

Can the check box at the start of the wizard, that relates to something at the end of the wizard be moved?
The first stage of the wizard has a tab labelled Synchronise using SQL Compare and the options on it are create backup, compare after synch and save synch script. I think the backup option is out of place here.
The third stage of the wizard has two tabs Create a schema snapshot and Perform a full backup. Adding a third tab here - "Synch without backup" could give recommendations in the panel on the right etc and would better fit with the theme of the 3rd stage of the wizard in my opinion. It would also have the benefit of letting me change my mind without having to <Back through the wizard to change the option and then Next> to the Finish...

The switch button on the project properties/Data Sources dialog is great, I have used the old version so many times and got the databases the wrong way around but relied on the Ctrl+D option to switch the synch action.
I would say that keeping Ctrl+D once the databases are compared is needed, just to help out where there are updates done in live that need to go back to dev AND keep the Switch button for DBAs in a hurry that get the order wrong!
cheers

Hi Eddie,
Yes I am only using the custom filter all the time. I use it all day (eg last Friday) and at the end of day I close the application and shut down the PC. In the morning (today) I start my PC, start SQL Response and the alerts are listed in full detail. I have to click the custom filter name and then the filter applies... / comments

Thanks for the reply Matthew,
I just needed confirmation that if the CPU usage goes high then it would alert in both monitored instances. That means I only need to investigate it once..!

Great, thanks for passing the message along. Also my apologies for mis-spelling your name previously. We have a Bryan here and its auto-pilot typing I'm afraid! / comments

Hi Bryan,
I am pretty certain these CREATE statements are not actually being executed, Grant Fritchey gave me some advice on a similar situation here http://ask.sqlservercentral.com/questions/3577/cross-database-functions where he says that the DMVs refer to the object being execute with the CREATE syntax as it cannot/has not resolved it to just the object name. In short the long running query is the execution of the object that the CREATE script would create, not the creation of the object itself.
Hope this makes sense, if not feel free to get in touch or maybe get hold of Grant!
Can you forward this to the Response v2 team or shall I get in touch direct? / comments
