I have created a new Feature Request report. The Reference number is DT-577.
I cannot guarantee that the request will obtain approval and if approval is given, in what future version of SQL Dependency Tracker the requested features will appear in.
Thank you for taking the time to post your SQL Dependency Tracker suggestions.
Many Thanks

When using the SQL Data Compare GUI for the first time, all of the possible results are selected for synchronization.
Once you deselect the rows of data for each object, that exist only in the target. When you close the GUI. The selections you previously selected are saved. The next time you open the GUI, the options you previously set will remain, therefore in your example you would only need disregard the data that exists in the target or right hand data source just the once for that project.
Alternatively, if you are licensed for the professional edition of SQL Data Compare, you can make use of the Command Line Line interface and create a script that will compare and synchronize the rows of data that exist only in data source 1 and exist in both but are different. As per this simple example: sqldatacompare /Database1:WidgetDev /Database2:WidgetLive
/Synchronize /Include:Missing /Include:Different
Have the script in a batch file and call the batch file when you need it. For more information on the SQL Data Compare Command Line Interface, please take a look in the SQL Data Compare Help File.

An assertion error is very rare with regards to SQL Backup. Are there any entries in the SQL Server Error Logs and SQL Server VDI Logs that help in identifying the cause of the issue?
Is this the first occurence? Or something you are experiencing intermittently?
What version of SQL Server and service pack level of the server that generated this error?
Many Thanks

The GUI on your acceptance server has two registered servers. A SQL Instance on the local machine and an instance from your DEV01 machine. It is the DEV01 instance where you wish to upgrade SQL backup.
Simply open the GUI on the acceptance server, right click the server name for the DEV01 server and select option to delete.
This action will remove the DEV01 server from the list of registered server in the acceptance GUI only.
The server components installation will remain installed and the DEV01 GUI will still have the DEV01 listed as a registered.
I hope the above answers your question.
Many Thanks

You do not need to remove registered servers. The upgrade from SQL Backup V5.4 to Version 6.3 is a two part process.
You will need to upgrade both the SQL Backup GUI and the server components.
So on the server that has a GUI and the only registered server is the local server, no problem simply upgrade the GUI and deploy the server componets to the registered server.
On the machine that has multiple servers registered. Upgrade the SQL Backup GUI and then deploy the Server components to each of the registered servers.
When you first re-open the GUI after upgrading it , it will bring a reminder box that the server components need to be upgraded. When you view the regsitered server, a cog icon will be displayed to the right of the server to indicate that an upgrade is available.
If you have already upgraded the server components for the registered server, there will be no cog icon to the right of the server name in the registered servers panel.
A new feature added to SQL Backup V6.3 is the ability to activate multiple servers, so if you have multiple servers regsitered into the GUI registered servers panel form the Tools menu ->Utilities ->Multi-server Activation.
This new feature maybe useful to you, as by applying SQL Backup V6.*, activation is set back to trail license and you will need to re-activate after upgrading.
This sticky forum post contains a link to a pdf document that contains upgrade instructions. It was originally written for upgrading to SQL backup V6.0/6.1 from previous versions. However the advice is still valid for you upgrading from V5.4 to V6.3: http://www.red-gate.com/messageboard/vi ... php?t=9346

Thank you for your post and sorry that you are experiencing a problem.
Unfortunately I am unable to replicate the problem you are experiencing.
By default in SQL Compare V8, the synchronization wizard is not available until the user selects one of more objects for synchronization.
Once an object or objects are selected, the synchronization wizard button becomes available and clicking on the button, starts up the synchronization wizard.
In Step 1, you select a synchronization method. From your post, I believe it is at this point that the 'next' button is not available?
A support call, F0029913, has been created for us to investigate this issue further.
Can you please, send an e-mail to support@red-gate.com with your call reference, F0029913, in the subject field of the e-mail and attach a screen shot of the step in the synchronization wizard with the 'next' button unavailable.
Many Thanks

Have you tried editing your SQL Compare project and enabling the option to 'Force column order'?
When this option is enabled, if additional columns are inserted into the middle of the table, this option forces a rebuild of the table so the column order is correct following synchronization. Data held in the table is preverved.
Many Thanks
