Hi mbarbhaya , Thanks for reaching out to Redgate Support. Based off your initial description it seems as if you would benefit from our SQL Compare application where you can provide SQL Compare with 2 databases (Which can both exist on different servers) and then SQL Compare will perform a comparison of the two databases and can deploy the changes from 1 database to another to make them identical or to deploy a few tables only. Does the above sound like what you are aiming to perform here? / comments

Hi James, Given these behavioral changes you are seeing seem to be caused by the amount of whitespace in your script, could I suggest that you try going into your SQL Compare Options and check off the comparison option for “Ignore whitespace” and then try this test again and let us know if any change in behavior occurs? Hi ahraitch , Thanks for reaching out to Redgate Support and sorry for the delay in my initial response. In this case what I would like you to do is double check we are running our queries from the correct interface window, so if you were to right-click on the dbo.clanPeople table in the Object Explorer and select the option “Select Top 1000 rows” and then reattempt to run Alter TABLE dbo.ClanPEOPLE ADD peopleSpouseID Nchar(10); Is Alter still not recognized?
