hmmm. Looks like this means I have to buiold this into the solution and that is out of the question. We are 5 developers and the encryption is only to be done at the deployment server. Any other thoughts ? / comments

On my laptop I had an older version of Reflector dated 16. jun 2010. Its dead - hahaha - I see what you mean. Luckily for me I have a paid for version too so for me this is no problem. But I se your point... I wasnt aware of that they allso stopped the older version.
But I bet someone knows what version to install to get rid of this so its probably not a problem for the community, unless of course, RedGate legaly prevents the older version from being distributed on other sites. This I dont know.. / comments

HAHAHA!! "Charge more for the other tools" Thats a good one ;-)
Here in .no we have a tax on our roads. The tax is something every car owner has to pay for each car owned with a licence plate. The tax is not that much, its about $200 a year pr. car. Now, in various places we allso have toll roads, a price to cross a bridge, go through a tunnel, use a ferry, drive over a mountain etc. etc. Some ppl are naging all the time because of this and they say, remove all tolls and put the cost on the car tax instead. Would you say that this is fair? Should I that live near Oslo really pay more tax for my two cars just because some other ppl nead to cross a bridge in Bodø (2000 Km away from my town). No! Put the TAX where it belongs and dont bother other ppl. / comments

Just remembered what the last thing I did just before this happend:

well, sure, but consider this:
1 (developer) * 8(hour a day) * 5 (days a week) = 40 man hours a week
40 * $50 = $2000 pr. week to have ONE developer in the staff. On top of that the company probably have 15% costs on top of that for each employee
As you say, they have other software with buggs, wich they HAVE to fix. They actually dont nead to fix anything in Reflector, but as a proud owner, they want to make reflector a nice product along with theyr other products.
Lets say they have to have 5 persons going to be able to meet the markets demand. They could use all the 5 persons to fix the payable software and let Reflector alone as it is. They dont. They beleive Reflector is a great product, along with the rest of us... So they decide to put on eperson on this project. This means that if thi sperson uses he's all time on this product, then RedGate must pay $8000 pr. month o tlet this happend. I think RedGate does the correct thing to put a small fee on Reflector. I have no problem with this at all.... / comments
